UNIX Beard
Facial hair that all Unix experts are mysteriously compelled to grow. The length, bushiness, and unkemptness of the Unix beard are all directly proportional to the owner’s expertise. Having a Unix beard is a great way to ensure that you never get laid. Bob’s a true Unix genius, just look at the size of his Unix beard!

Jakob Nielsen - Andy Rooney's successor
This ‘Web 2.0 Can Be Dangerous’ by Jakob Nielsen, smacks of the curmudgeony attitude that Andy Rooney has perfected. Instead of criticism’s over pop culture, and every day sensible things, Nielsen attacks the current state of web application/RIA design.

Jobs unveiled the ROKR in September 2005 with his characteristic aplomb, describing it as “an iPod shuffle on your phone.” But Jobs likely knew he had a dud on his hands; consumers, for their part, hated it. The ROKR — which couldn’t download music directly and held only 100 songs — quickly came to represent everything that was wrong with the US wireless industry, the spawn of a...
security practices
I was just on the phone with a support representitive for commutercheckdirect.com and they actually asked for my password in order to help me solve my problem. Me: “No. Are you kidding me?” Rep: “Then I’m not going to be able to help you.” Me: “[click]”
